The Mission Team held a series of Evangelistic mission and crusades in Ilali, Harambee, Kamakuya and Shiakhula during August 2019.
The church in Shiakhula upgraded its building from a semi-permanent to a permanent structure.
The leadership are praying for funds to complete before the planned opening. Windows and doors are yet to be installed to secure the building.
Church Planting
Western Cause supports the construction of churches. That doesn’t involve doing for others what they can do for themselves; rather, it is intentionally coming alongside and supporting congregations who are often already giving sacrificially. By leveraging resources we can expand a congregation’s base for ministry and outreach. This year, Western Cause hope to support the planting of some 4 new churches.
Typically church plants start in homes or rented storefront buildings. As the congregation grows, the land is purchased or leased and a temporary structure is built. This is usually of wooden poles and corrugated metal sheets.
A permanent structure is usually of mud bricks with wooden trusses and a corrugated metal roof is generally constructed. The building is secured when metal frame windows and metal doors are installed. Building in stages is the way Kenyans usually build.
In 2019, two new churches have been planted: in Malo in the rift valley and Morijo in the South Rift.

This newly planted church is struggling to complete its building. With your donation, this can be done before the rainy season arrives. It will take approximately another 90 iron sheet (zinc sheets) to complete at a cost of £8.00 per sheet.
